They were so wonderful when we were looking to upgrade our HVAC system and get new duct work in. Sonny really worked with us and cost us half as much as every other company we got a quote from. I guess the joke is on us because we got an incompetent technician when we were having issues. Then DJ came to the rescue and fixed a number of issues, however now we have unfinished work and STILL haven’t heard anything about the rebate paperwork they stated they would handle for us.
We haven’t been able to get in contact since October 2025. I have called and left numerous voicemails with no response and emails with no response. We have a 10 year warranty that is now useless with a brand new split system. If something stops working, we will be out hundreds or thousands when we already spent thousands just for the new system.
I’m not sure if they are now out of business but there is no signage at their “office” anymore. We are very frustrated and will be filing for an investigation by the Alabama Board of Contractors, especially since 1st Choice is not listed as a bonded company on their website.

This company went above and beyond for my family! Our ac went out and they were recommended by neighbors. Francisco came and was the most knowledgeable guy I met. He thoroughly accessed the issues causing problems and Eric went and checked the other unit. Eric was great too. Together they provided incomparable service. In The Alabama heat, we was at 80+ degrees in the house. To be honest it was cooler outside. Francisco got everything fixed and Sonny and his wife (the owner) are a blessing, they made sure we could afford the services, they are truly a beautiful team. I am forever grateful!!! The prices, the service, the guarantees are the best I've seen. Thank you so much First Choice Heating and Cooling!

Can’t say enough good things about these guys! The owner Sonny and my technician Wyatt made this experience so easy (and very cost effective). They reached out to me immediately when I put in an inquiry, scheduled on a weekend, and followed up with me via text and email. My wall unit is extra clean thanks to them. I will be using 1st choice for all my HVAC needs moving forward.

We have been screwed over before by HVAC companies and as a result, when our AC went out a few weeks ago we decided to get several companies’ opinions before letting anyone fix it. Of the 3 companies that came out, it was very easy to make our decision and go with First Choice. Sonny (the owner) seems like a great guy who genuinely cares about both his customers & his employees, and wants to run an honest business. He even lent us an air cooler to help keep our house cool while they were working on it. They were able to replace our AC system & furnace quickly & at a fair price, and offered 0% financing options. They also furnished us with an 10 year parts & labor warranty on our new system! Eric, Francisco, & Wyatt were our techs and they were friendly, professional, and did quality work.
We highly recommend this company!
