We came on a Thursday at dinner time. We had no problem getting seated.
The food was good but it definitely is not worth the price they are charging. $40 for a 12 ounce Cajun ribeye. This restaurant was talked highly about as a steakhouse but it seemed like they did not know how to cook a steak to medium rare, because it had to be sent back twice for being well done. Another in my party also had the same issue.
The server was great, she was friendly and kept our drinks full. When the manager heard about the steaks he offered to comp the meal, which we were thankful for.
The restaurant is very dark. We had a couple people (older) need flashlights to see the menu.
Overall I think the location has potential, but the price is way too high in my opinion.

This was my first visit to Firebirds in Hoover, and what a great experience. I sat at the bar, where the illuminated shelves of bottles made quite an impression. It’s a beautiful setting, but the food and the two bartenders who took care of me made the visit memorable.
I started with onion rings that were wonderfully crispy and full of flavor, especially with the dipping sauce. One of the bartenders recommended the BLT salad, and that was another delicious choice.
The Tomahawk Pork Chop was the highlight. Before even trying the pork, I tasted the charred carrots—and they surprised me. I usually don’t enjoy cooked carrots, but the smoky grilled flavor and the sauce made these something special. The pork was absolutely delicious. Partway through the meal, I tried a bite with the little crumbles of goat cheese, and that combination took it to another level. The cheese had a bold flavor, but just a little balanced beautifully with the meat.
Both bartenders were friendly and attentive. When I mentioned it was my first visit, they were happy to help me have a great experience. One even noticed I was drinking beer and considered what cocktail I might enjoy. I asked for a standout recommendation and ended with a pineapple martini that really impressed me. After the first sip, the flavor made me stop and think, “Wow, that is good!”
I wish I had caught their names so I could thank them personally. Their warm service and thoughtful recommendations made an already delicious meal even better. I would definitely come back.

Visited yesterday for lunch and GREAT CHOICE!!! I had the wedge salad...fresh,clean perfect iceberg lettuce,great heirloom tomatoes,candied bacon and 2 RANCH RINGS..those alone are worth the price of admission especially with their garlic ranch dressing!!! Also had a side of steak fries these just may be the perfect fry..just crispy enough in the outside, thick cut and pillowy on the inside...amazing. also tried the firebird chicken pasta...HUGE PORTION not very spicy asiago sauce which was perfect, bacon and chicken compliments this pasta perfectly...quality ingredients and the results definitely show...will return for sure, our server was terrific also!!!

What a great experience at Firebirds! The chicken salad was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive.
The service was excellent, and the staff made us feel comfortable and appreciated throughout our visit. It’s not always easy to find a place that combines great food with outstanding customer service, but Firebirds definitely delivered on both.
I highly recommend Firebirds to anyone looking for a great meal, especially if you love fresh salads. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to family and friends!

Consistent 5-Star Excellence! Outstanding Food, Massive Portions, and Great Value.
Every single time we visit this spot, they absolutely knock it out of the park. If you want a flawlessly executed steakhouse dinner in the Birmingham area without the pretentious price tag, this is your place.
I ordered the 12oz ribeye with a baked potato, and both were cooked exactly to order. My wife started with their huge, fresh house salad before tackling the massive 16oz ribeye and a fully loaded baked potato. Honestly, the 16oz cut looked like something straight out of The Flintstones—it was beautifully charred, incredibly juicy, and absolutely massive.
The service matched the stellar quality of the kitchen. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kept my sweet tea topped off the entire night (which is no easy task!).
We wrapped up the evening with a slice of chocolate cake. It was literally the size of a diner-style napkin dispenser—decadent, moist, and downright delicious.
Budget-wise, it's a high-end steakhouse experience, so expect to spend a little money. However, compared to other premium steakhouses around Birmingham, their pricing is incredibly fair and easily on the lower end of the fine-dining spectrum. You get amazing portions, top-tier quality, and fantastic service. Highly recommended!
