Every time I’m in Birmingham for work I go eat here. Kyriakos is fantastic and all the other guys at the bar! Food is AMAZING and so are the drinks!! Soooo many choices.

The Fish Market Restaurant was a perfect find for me! I finally found my go-to shrimp and grits that I have been in search for years. You won’t get the same Shrimp & Grits at the highway 280 location, so get the best Shrimp & Grits at the downtown Birmingham location. Not all shrimp and grits are created equal, the best have that white wine cream sauce that lingers on your taste buds while the shrimp provide that fresh salty sea taste. The Shrimp & Grits from the downtown Birmingham location do just that and more! The more comes from the sides and anything else you can eat, but this review is dedicated to the Shrimp & Grits! I’m not sorry because they are that great!!!!!

The fish market is one of our go to places! They always have good service and consistently good food! Their grilled fish is some of the best! The seasoning is perfect! We have had a lot of birthday dinners here in addition to regular dinners! I highly recommend it! My go to is usually the red snapper but I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like! This is a really good weekday spot, they have good prices and aren’t too busy!

Stopped by for a quick seafood bite ahead of seeing a show at Iron City. This was a great choice!
The highlight was the fresh oysters, which had great texture and flavour, and great horseradish which can be a deal maker or breaker with fresh oysters.
We also had the mahi mahi dinner with coleslaw and gumbo. The main course took a bit longer, but was tasty when delivered. Super yummy hush puppies too.
The restaurant has neat decor and feel as much like a community market and seafood restaurant. All sorts of beautiful things and Greek or Mediterranean regional products. It would be a great stop ahead of the holidays for dinner and some gift shopping.
